I'll admit it (under the anonymity of the internet of course), Chick Lit is one of my guilty pleasures. I'm a huge Jennifer Weiner fan. "Good In Bed" is my favorite, but I think all of her books are intelligent, sensitive and uplifting. Anyone else out there?

Bridget Jones' Diary. I'll happily agree to a colleague's complaint that "this book is mostly what is wrong with literature's approach to modern women", but it is fantastic fun. Though the law of diminishing returns set in with The Edge of Reason and the movies...

Ah yes, "Bridget Jone's Diary". I loved it and also "The Edge of Reason." I thought Renee Zellweger was surprisingly good in the films, although "The Edge of Reason" did not translate a well to film IMHO.

Yes, soomething in what you say. Could it be that a lot of The Edge of Reason consists of relatively hackneyed material that's funny when Fielding writes it simply because of her style, obut when it's filmed, there's no similarly clever articulation, so it simply looks like slpstick and sentiment, which cinema has already worn out?

If you are a fan of chick-lit, have you read the Shop-a-holic series, or the Somehing borrowed, & blue books?
Both authors are fab. chick-lit authors. I too and a Jen Weiner fan...can you sugguest anything new that I may have not read?

HoneyBrook, you hit on two of my favorites. Are you talking about Sophie Kinsella when you say shopaholic books? Yes, she's wonderful!
SOMETHING BORROWED is one of my all time favorites. I wasn't as crazy about SOMETHING BLUE but I still enjoyed it. Those are the only two of Emily Griffin's that I've read.
Lauren Weisberger's another great author if you haven't read her.
